What will a typical day look like for Ash Class?

9am – Phonics video links are posted to Facebook for parents to access. This includes a reading video, spelling video and one other (red words, longer words or hold a sentence). Parents comment ‘good morning’ from children on the phonics post and will also post photos of their completed phonics work. Once this work is complete the children are directed to Oxford Owl to read a book from their phonics level.

10am – Literacy assignments posted onto Teams and an alert to this posted on Facebook. Talk 4 writing based videos from Oak Academy have been working well for the children as they are interactive and allow the children to complete the work on paper (rather than typing). Parents will post photos and videos of the children completing the lessons and hand in the assignment on Teams ready for feedback.

11am – Maths work is set via Teams or MyMaths, again parents are also alerted to this via Facebook..Children will complete their work and hand in ready for feedback.

1pm - Phonics video links are posted to Facebook for parents to access. In the afternoon this is just a reading video. Once this work is complete the children are directed to Oxford Owl to read a book from their phonics level.

1:30pm – The children will be directed to this afternoon's topic session via Teams or Facebook. If on Teams parents will hand in work or photographs of work. Parents will also share photographs to the Facebook group of afternoon work.

2:45pm – Story time – a pre-recorded story time will go out for children to watch at the end of the day.
