How will you work with me to help my child who needs additional support from adults at home to access remote education?

We recognise that some pupils, for example some pupils with SEND, may not be able to access remote education without support from adults at home. We will work with parents and carers to support those pupils in the following ways:

  • If your child has special educational needs and/ or disabilities, we will speak to you directly about their support. They will continue to be supported by the adults who work with them in school through live teaching or additional recorded information. This work will match what they would access in school as far as is practicable. There might be some circumstances where this is not possible, but we will speak to you directly about this.
  • For younger children in Nursery and Reception, we will invite them to some live teaching in small groups for phonics and small group work. We will help you to get them online for this. We will also send information about activities you can do at home to support your child through our class facebook pages. This will include some pre-recorded lessons and stories.
  • Our parent link worker / SEN Support will also be available in school on a daily basis for any questions or concerns you may have.
  • SEN review meetings will continue virtually.
