Council Minutes for meeting 3rd October 2008

Chestnut Class

It was good to hear all the things Chestnut enjoyed. Mrs Walker will talk to the dinner ladies about playtimes in Foundation. Mrs Chalkley wondered if play-leaders would like a turn in Foundation.                                                                                     We are waiting for the people who made the climbing frame to get back to us. They are in America which is why everything is taking so long.

Maple Class

There were lots of things that Maple Class liked such as nice teachers and raffle rewards. They also wanted to improve things such as being quieter when it was work time. They wanted to know about school trips, teacher's passwords and school parties. Miss Faulkner will tell them about any trips and school events but we won't be telling Maple Class any teacher passwords!

Holly Class

Teachers were also mentioned on the things Holly Class were happy with. They also liked the chance box. They thought we needed to improve football nets in the MUGAs but we need to get the stolen ones back. Holly Class wished they could still have free fresh fruit but unfortunately the government only give us money for Foundation Stage and KS1 children.                                          They also wanted to know if teachers could wear uniforms like the children because they are part of the Lacewood Team. Mrs Chalkley thinks this is a lovely idea but we have to persuade all the staff.                                                                                       Could Holly Class do that ?

Linden Class

Linden Class were also happy with playtime especially the trim trail and suggested a shelter over the MUGA.  They liked their lessons and the pond. They wanted to bring toy cars and were asking about school trips. Mrs Priestley will tell Linden about any school trips they will be going on.

Beech Class

Beech liked the trim trail and wanted to know why there was a 15 person limit. This was to keep them safe. If people have a go and then move on to another activity this will make sure more people have a go.

The football nets on the MUGA are a problem but Mrs Chalkley is not happy to buy more when the others were stolen. Bins on the MUGA are a good idea and we will see if Carillion will order us one. The stage is not ordered. This was a project done by Miss Wilkinson to try to get a grant. If we are not successful getting the grant we will not be able to have the stage.

Cedar Class

Cedar are also pleased with the playleaders and playtime espesially the trim trail. They would like to play girls versus girls in the MUGA. Cedar also want nets for the MUGA and the nets up on the football pitch. They also wanted to know when the pond would be finished. It is finished. Plants take time to grow and now we have pond skaters and other mini-beasts, frogs may come.                  We can use the field whenever the weather is fine. Indoor play is not likely at the moment because whenever the weather is fine we will try to let you play outdoors.

A big thank you to Holly Class for their ideas for Creative Partnerships.

Mrs Chalkley suggests we have a fund raiser for the nets for the MUGA if that is what most classes want to do.
