At Lacewood Primary we are working on our Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA) which is a national quality standard designed to enhance the work of schools that are “committed to investing in parents for the achievement of pupils”.

As part of working towards this standard we will be:-

·         offering more training and enrichment opportunities for parents, both to develop their own learning and to support their children’s learning.

·         celebrating the successes of parents who take part.

·         organising more events to encourage parents and children to enjoy learning together and to have fun!

·         providing further information and events during transition between schools.

·         ensuring more opportunities for parents and families to become involved in both school events and community events.

·         increasing the representation of parent councillors on our School Council.

If you feel that you or your service/company can be involved in any way at all then please contact us by email or phone.

Schools have to work  towards 10 different objectives checked by an external advisor.

Lacewood holds and actively promotes enrichment opportunities or events for joint parent child participation.

(Rhyme Time/Radiowaves/Phonics)

We try to make Lacewood a welcoming and friendly place  for children, parents and all our visitors.

All our new parents have a tour of the school and time to both ask questions and find out about  Lacewood.

Guidance and information on how to help your child is available and sessions like Rhyme time and phonics workshops are planned.

Lacewood is working hard to make our key policies clear and updates changes on the Lacewood Link Newsletter.

For children leaving our school we work closely with

secondary schools to ensure a smooth change to a new place of learning.

For children moving through school we provide opportunities for children to meet their new teachers and this year tried a story and home time session so parents / carers could meet their child’s new teacher.
