In history our children are given the opportunity to develop an awareness of the past and its differences with the present.  They are helped to understand some of the ways we find out about the past and the order of these events.  At Lacewood we try to bring history alive by using drama days when children dress up and take part as Victorians, Greeks, evacuees or even Vikings.

At KS1  children will study:

1) Everyday life in the past

2) Lives of famous people

3) Past events, festivals, anniversaries.

The themes at KS2 are more specific covering:

1) Invaders and Settlers

2) Tudors

3) Victorians or Britain since 1930

4) Ancient Greece

5) A Local History Study

6) A Non-European (e.g. Ancient Egypt).
