Bolton-on-Dearne
is in the Dearne Valley, South Yorkshire, England. It contains many houses
and other buildings. It is about 8 miles away from Barnsley and 10 miles
from Doncaster. The nearest towns to it are Goldthorpe, Wath and Mexbrough.
It may only be very small but many people live there also it has been
standing for many years.

In the past
railway tracks and mines surrounded it where many people worked. Some of the
railway still remains but the mines were closed down in about 1991 leaving
hundreds with no money for food.
Only a few old
building still stand the rest demolished to make room for new ones. It
spoils Bolton a bit but soon the old ones will be new and the new will be
old soon to be new again. The life cycle of the houses in Bolton-on-Dearne
that will carry on forever and bring a tear to the eye of a person that has
lived to watch Bolton grow up.
